how to make the perfect tie dye t-shirt

kit list: tie dye [you can get kits off amazon], rubber bands, gloves and a white piece of clothing.

Step one] damp your piece of clothing in water

Step two] for this piece I’m making a spiral. if you want to make a spiral stick a fork in the middle and twist it adding rubber bands. you could do other techniques crumpled where you crumple it and put dye all over the top or stripes fold the into pleats use elastic bands to make sections and put the dye in the sections.

step three] put in the dye make sure to be wearing rubber gloves, to do it in a bucket and make sure if you’re doing it in the house that the surfaces are covered. Protect your clothes. Also if you have got a kit fill the bottle up up to the top until the powder has dissolved.

step four] put the shirt in a plastic bag for five to eight hours. I use multiple so the dye dosen’t get every where.

step five] wearing the protective gloves take the shirt out of the bag and remove any rubber bands. Rinse the shirt with cold water.

step six] Put your shirt in the washing on a cold cycle without putting in any detergent only put in one item at a time so the colours don’t transfer.

Quarantine isn’t all bad

This is all the good things to make quarantine not so bad.

Baking. During quarantine I have been improving my baking apple crumble, gnocchi and we made pizza. I’ve been baking so much my mum made a rule to bake only once a week. She said if I carried on baking cakes we would all get diabetes.

The pizza party. My mums work had a pizza party over google meet. I made my favourite pizza chicken mushroom and sweet corn. We also had a dance party. I won a £25 amazon voucher for doing a Sage (where my mum works) and pizza advert and me and my sister got a small tent to go camping in (in the garden).

Easter. for Easter my mum knitted bunnies and put chocolate eggs in them and sent them out we also made an easter cake. We did an Easter egg hunt where my dad wrote the clues in Spanish. It was a really nice day so me and my sister had a water fight.

Quarantine film night. Me and Erin face timed and watched shaun of the dead and now we do it once a week also me and my cousin do virtual sleepovers.

Quarantine birthday. On my birthday the party at the virtual reality place got cancelled as well as going to wag mamma’s. I still had a great birthday me and my dad made brownies. My favourite present was my F.R.I.E.N.D.S hoodie.

VE-day. On VE-day every one decorated staying two meters apart we also all sat out on our drive for afternoon tea the streets looked beautiful.

Art. In quarantine I did my first canvas a night sky. On my other canvases I used a splatter cup technique. We did a colouring competition for VE-day I didn’t win. I used watercolour.

Japan project. I have been working on a project all about Japan it took at least two months.

online school

11th June 2020 | Millie

this week our school started online school by sending us stuff via sea saw explaining the work.

we also got a new computer because our iPad is so old that it’s hard to use for school.

Also for my school year six aren’t going back so you with still see a lot of me. My new headphones arrived and i finished my anime book the witch hat atelier and I’m still waiting on the tie dye kit.

quarantine week eleven

4th June 2020 | Millie

On the weekend my cousin joe and ollie came round for a barbecue because it was almost joes 16th birthday and when i’m writing this it is joe’s birthday happy birthday joe. We had cupcakes as well.

Then on the Sunday I went on a bike ride with my friend ,Ella, then she came round for another barbecue .

Then after a long day me and my mum snuggled up in bed and watched glow up.

quarantine week ten

This week we didn’t do much but on Friday me and my cousin did a virtual sleepover.

We went on a walk because this week it was really sunny we went down to Liverpool and had a walk with my granny and a picnic.

My mum me and my sister made Tudor ginger bread.

This week we did a pizza party and i made a chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn pizza.

I also started to learn card magic tricks.

Amelia’s quarantine quiz Daddy Are you enjoying quarantine? He thinks there’re pros and cons but he dosen’t hate it. Mmmy Are you enjoying quarantine? No not at all. Georgia Are you enjoying quarantine? sort of.

quarantine week eight

16th May 202026th May 2020 | Millie

This week Boris Johnson announced on the news that on Wednesday we are officially aloud to exercise for longer and we are allowed to exercise with more people as long as social distancing is still in place.

My mum’s work did a charity event at home. We made yellow pompoms for a cancer hospital and cat squishy’s with catnip in for the cats. We did five quizzes so we can get 500 pounds to go to a charity if we win.

quarantine wek seven/ VE-Day

9th May 202026th May 2020 | Millie

So this week we didn’t do much work we did at least one hour a week because my parents had a week off. On Thursday we started preparation for VE-DAY we made scones and lemonaid.

VE-DAY So on VE-day we all sat outside ate salmon and cream cheese triangular sandwiches with no crust. Me and my sister went on our scooters up and down the street.

Everyone sat on their drives for afternoon tea so here was ours.

quarantine week six

2nd May 202026th May 2020 | Millie

This week me and my mum went on a 5k run for the NHS we gave 10 pounds to the NHS.

Me and my best friend Erin had to FaceTime to watch a film together and my sister was on a zoom call with her friends.

It is really hard to get online shops but luckily we were able to get a really big online shop this week.

We entered a design a banner competition we have sent a picture and if I win they make the banner and put it outside my school
